Life as a pilot was never easy, filled with long hours and the weight of responsibility. One day, after an exhausting shift, a pilot fell into a deep sleep. In his dream, he was soaring high above the clouds, expertly navigating a sleek jet plane. The sky was endless, painted in hues of orange and blue, as he prepared to land at a bustling airport. The landing was flawless, and as he stepped off the plane, a beautiful girl approached, asking for a photo. They smiled as the camera clicked, capturing a moment of pride and joy. As he began his journey home in the dream, a sudden sound interrupted him-a doorbell. He blinked awake to find his sister at the door, smiling and saying, "Dinner's ready!" The pilot chuckled, realizing it had all been a dream. But in that brief escape, he had experienced the thrill of his job and a reminder of the simple joys of life. 6.2A prophet who longed to look upon his deities. A daunting journey to a mountain peak. A confrontation with gods too powerful to name. This is the story that inspired Peter Rhodes, who worked as a filmmaker and artist during the 1920s. Few people know of his work, and it's only through luck and perseverance that we have been able to track down the elements for this "lost" film. Rhodes' films were created using silhouette animation, a technique perfectly suited to depict Lovecraft's mythic Dreamland stories. The filmmaker's involvement in New York City's occult and literary scenes provided him with a select audience for his work. Rhodes was especially influenced through his relationships with occultist Aleister Crowley and writer H.P. Lovecraft, but it was personal tragedy that moved him to produce "The Other Gods: A Tale of the Dream Cycle," his most powerful film.

6.7Frieda Liappa in this short film casts an alternative gaze on the notion of historicity. Loukia is a teenager currently staying at her cousin’s house in Athens. Unlike her cousin she is timid and quite stressed for the school exam. She studies history. Between the lines of her book the historical events sprung up in a multidimensional way. Liappa transverses the dimensions of the real the imaginary and the symbolic. She invites the viewer to consider the construction of the filmic as well as the historical text. She succeeds in making a film with an open end and to leave room for our own contingent constructions.
