While clearing out the estate of his dead uncle, a retired professor named George Angell from Brown University, Francis Wayland Thurston discovers notes about his uncle’s investigation into a mysterious and sinister cult. Although sceptical at first, Thurston begins to uncover evidence that corroborates his uncle’s findings, and starts to suspect that his uncle’s death may not have been a simple matter of old age after all. Ultimately, Thurston discovers that there are some things best left unknown to mankind for the sake of our sanity… This story tells an unforgettable tale of cosmic horror, and introducing one of the most enduring horror characters of all time - Cthulhu.
