Parody of Stromberg with Michael Kessler as Adolf Hitler. The Stromberg roles of Tanja (Hill), Ernie (Giermann), Ulf (Hoecker) and Erika (Nadolny) are also parodied. Joseph Goebbels (Nottmeier) also makes frequent appearances. In some earlier episodes, Müller also appeared as Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, who tried to kill Hitler with poisoned cookies or a bomb in a briefcase. The parody ends with the Germans losing the war and Hitler leaving Obersalzberg disguised as Stromberg.

As the pressure builds and Knobel is forced to deliver more and more volumes of the fake diaries, he finds himself acting increasingly like the man whose life he is rewriting. The film is a romping and hilarious satire, poking fun not only at the events and characters involved in the hoax (who are only thinly disguised in the film), but at the discomfort Germany has with its difficult past.
