Produced for the Thailand Biennale, Chiang Rai, (2023), « Solarium » was inspired by a 1981 horror film, « The Sunken-Eyed Ghost », by Thai director Komarachun. This installation places the public in the mindset of the protagonist, a ghost seeking his previously torn-out eyes. Without any bearings, in the darkness, the ghost’s perceptions are depicted via a homage to the first experimental films : the experiments with light in the darkroom conducted by Hans Richter, Marcel Duchamp and Fernand Léger.
