Twenty years later he is working for Oscar, Captain of the Royal Guards, as her subordinate and secretly in love with her. One evening he duels with Black Knight and gets his eye stabbed. The performance at Chunichi Theater in February 2009 is enhanced by an additional story: a spin-off specially written for Takarazuka by Riyoko Ikeda, the original author of The Rose of Versailles. This spin-off bestows upon Takarazuka's The Rose of Versailles a new allure.
