Matsuwaka-gumi Tatsumi-kai underboss Daido (Kazuki Namioka) lost his chairman Hayashi to a hitman's attack. The hitman was arrested, but Daido suspected a traitor within the Matsuwaka-gumi's executive ranks had orchestrated the hit. Matsuwaka-gumi Yamaguchi-gumi executive Yanagi (played by Sōsuke Takaoka) suspected his father, Yamazaki, might be involved in Hayashi's murder and began investigating on his own.
