Set in a rural Kyushu village, this film follows the forbidden love between a father-in-law and daughter-in-law living under the same roof. This powerful film depicts the secret love between a father-in-law and his deceased son's wife, weaving together intense love scenes and delicate psychological portrayals. Noriko, who lives with her late husband's father, Shūkichi, lies in wait for him naked in the cowshed every morning, and as he confuses her with the cow he used to adore and works hard to milk her, she grows increasingly lonely as his dementia progresses.
