When the mice at home, none of which are Herman, become to much for Katnip the cat, he decides he needs a vacation in the Catskill Mountains. Once there, he gets rough treatment from mosquitoes, ants and fish. He returns home to find the mice have baked him a coming-home cake, that, since the candle is a stick of dynamite, explodes in his face, thereby making him feel at home.

Donald takes a kayak trip. When he gets to his campsite, he unloads the kayak, fights with his folding chair, and goes to sleep. Meanwhile, the chipmunks of the forest (precursors of Chip 'n Dale), attracted by his squawking, make off with the huge pile of food he carelessly unloaded. They get the attention of a bear, who Donald is soon battling.

Donald needs a log for his fire. Unfortunately, the one he picks is occupied by a couple of chipmunks and their stash of acorns. When he cuts it down, Chip and Dale fall out, but their acorns stay behind, so they work at putting out Donald's fire and retrieving their stash. Donald, of course, takes this as calmly and cheerfully as you would expect.

Jerry crashes a vase onto Tom's head, which gets Mammy to throw Tom out. Jerry at first revels in his freedom, but soon tires of this, and, under a flag of truce, hatches a plan with Tom.
The Missing Mouse(en)
A moment after a bottle of white shoe polish pours on Jerry, Tom hears on the radio that a white mouse, having swallowed an explosive, has escaped from an experimental laboratory and that slightest jar of the mouse could cause it to explode and blow up the entire city. It is then that Tom notices now-white Jerry and concludes it's the escapee.

Donald Duck, delivery boy, is hired to deliver a mysterious package on Friday the Thirteenth. He is hindered by a bothersome black cat -- and by the fact that the package contains a live bomb.
