Based on the novel Magno Mainak by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, the film portrays the iconic Bengali detective Byomkesh Bakshi along with his friend Ajit Bandyopadhyay as he investigates the murder of a Pakistani spy named Heena Mallick.
