A nice but poor medical student, Petros, lives in a poor courtyard with a down-and-out musician, Antonis. His fellow student Eleni is in love with Petros, but he has no eyes for anyone but Aliki, a girl from an upper-class family, whom her parents wish to rehabilitate with a son-in-law of their own class.
