Before leaving, he told the landlord Chu boss that he would marry He Hua, the daughter of the Chu family, and left an ancestral jade bracelet as a token. During that evening, He Hua met with Liu ZhenShan, the leader of the People's Liberation Army who came to investigate, and fell in love at first sight.
