Carmela listens to the voices of indigenous leaders and sheds light on the environmental impact of coal mining in the region. At the same time, she discovers the strategies used by the women of the community to survive the lack of water. The documentary immerses us in the Wayuu cosmogony through their myths, legends and beliefs, depicted in a series of animations that explore their dream universe.

With no desire to retire anytime soon, Mabel gives voice to a generation who are not front and center of cinema or the pop hairstyles of the day, and subtly shifts the lens on our perception of beauty and the elderly.

The short was filmed with the cooperation of Mizukaido Elementary School in Joso City and is the first film in the "Social Studies Teaching Film System" by Iwanami Film Productions.
