ReBoot 1990 Limelight Demo Reel(en)

This promotional tape for ReBoot was created in 1990 by The Hub (Ian Pearson, Gavin Blair, Phil Mitchell) and Limelight, the production company trying to get ReBoot off the ground. The Bob animation tests were created on Alias computer systems. The Megabyte/Hacker segment is from an even earlier animation test created on the same FGS system used to create Money For Nothing. This footage was transferred from D1 video tape (originally recorded from VHS) and restored by the ReBoot ReWind crew: Jacob Weldon, Raquel Lin, Mark Westhaver & Bryan Baker.

At the end of the day, when Snarf believes he failed by losing Baby Lion-O, the butterfly returns, along with Baby Lion-O. King Claudus congratulates Snarf on a job well done and appoints him as Baby Lion-O's personal caretaker. As Snarf prepares Baby Lion-O for bed, several butterflies appear, much to Baby Lion-O's delight, and to Snarf's chagrin.

Still sharing his rundown apartment with his middle-aged parents, an oafish slob of an Italian father and a ditzy nutcase of a Jewish mother, he's ridiculed and looked down upon by his friends, hypocrites who run with violent gangs and the Italian Mafia, and a shallow Black girl who makes her living downtown with the pimps and pushers. The cartoonist gets a chance to pitch a film idea to a movie mogul, but the story proves too outrageous: a far-future Earth, depleted by war and pollution, where a mutant antihero challenges and kills God.
