But on the engagement day Raja announces that he is in love with a poor woman, Palavi which forces Madhu to attempt suicide thus throwing both the families back to square one - this time such an enmity that will lead to blood-shed.

In the end, it is Immi that saves her from total self-destruction.

Meloda's dad is also a doctor (Chetan Anand). Meloda had studied in India and speaks Hindi fluently. Both fall in love amongst the splendour of Japan.
