Overview
With the end of the “Peace Process” in 2015, I witnessed the conflict that broke out between the PKK and government forces in the Sur region of Diyarbakır. I was a freelance journalist at that time, witnessing this terrible event caused me a trauma. Years later, I turned these images in my archive into a documentary. I prepared this documentary by reflecting on the witness, migration and urban memory. It was very sad to take such bad footage with my camera. After these images, the Sur region was demolished, and absurd houses are now being built instead of demolished houses.

Due to the high rate of child deaths in the village where they live, the families sought to go to the shrines and to give different names to the children born. Taking his name from the tomb of Koyun Dede, Dede lives the name given to him as fate and continues his daily life by carrying the difficulties that come from being a shepherd. The only dream of Dede, who cannot reconcile with his family and village people about marriage, migration to the city and work, is to marry.

Istanbul is one of the rare cities with the most intense cultural heritage in today's world, with a history of over 5,000 years. For example, in an ordinary street of Beşiktaş, you can see a fountain that has been "partially preserved" despite tens of layers of asphalt on it, and lacks historical and cultural explanation. It is possible to observe undefined and unexplained history and culture all over Istanbul. Look at whatever angle you want to look at, consciously or out of ignorance, but the truth is that Istanbul has been presented to people by being undefined. The aim of this fictional documentary is to raise the awareness of the viewer towards the cultural self of the city, which is of great importance, by questioning the realism of the fictional documentary.
